Paper Abstract:      The use of e-learning in primary and secondary schools in Croatia is still rare and unsystematic. CARNet educational centre Edupoint has developed three online courses on programming for the pupils in order to promote use of e-learning in schools. Edupoint has started a pilot project with the aim to adopt the courses to this population of users and to identify the most appropriate ways of implementing those courses in informatics classes. One of the goals of the research that will be carried out within the pilot project is to compare teachers' and pupils’ ideas and attitudes towards e-learning before and after participating in the pilot project. The first results show that implementation of online courses has proved different from the teachers' expectations. The biggest challenge the teachers face is the difficulty to cope with the change in their role from knowledge transmitter to learning facilitator.
